This Earth, with all it’s complexity, tragedy, and manmade alterations, was originally given to us as a gift. In only six days, God labored; speaking nature and it’s inhabitants into gardens, breathing life unto dust, and placing the dominion and the task of naming all creatures at the foot of man, all in His essentially ‘perfect’ place. Though the matters of the Earth did not work out the way God intended, He still creates humans, presenting before everyone life and death, blessings and curses- hoping that His love for us will initiate us to choose life. The most spectacular part in all of this is that He knows each of us. He has is the author of our story.
Isn’t it amazing that at this moment that He can tell you the exact amount of hair on your head? All of what He’s done was not done in vain. He has made us all with gifts intertwined into our backbones. We have talents, meaning, voices that are meant to be heard. God has made everyone with a specific purpose, and has gifted them with the talents in order to complete that very purpose. When your mother gave birth to you, God gave birth to a purpose!
I am blessed to say that God has gifted me with many talents, all of which I plan to pay forward, though among all of them, I think my natural charisma and elocution skills are my strongest. Though I continue to pray for wisdom, I see myself as wise. Communicating is easy for me. I like to learn new language and cultures just to share knowledge and values. A true leader is a one who does not fail to continue learning, even beyond what is expected of their capacity. I feel that communication is key in all of this, and although it is brilliant to be able to speak, to listen is more important, so I try to do both. With the gift of being able to openly communicate with others, I’d like to say that I can be a minister. The reason why God gave me this way with words was to build others up, to preach the message of reconciliation, to comfort. The bible says our tongues are double- edged swords, the only defensive tool in God’s armor of righteousness, therefore speaking things into existence is in our control, and with this gift he’s given me, I’m sure I’m supposed to minister, to simply speak to his people. That is my purpose.
Do you see the connection here? God gives us gifts, he gives us opportunities to nourish these gifts, and He aids us in coming in to our true potential, with these gifts, and expects us to use them for a specific ‘purpose’. Yes, there goes that word ‘purpose’ again. Our purpose is directly aligned with the gifts already given to us. We already have what it takes to complete this purpose! We just need to nurture it, and most importantly- not lose sight of it.
When focusing on purpose, I think the easiest thing to do is to lose sight of what we are here for, and that is Satan’s number one goal. He seeks to disengage our thoughts, to bring chaos to our homes, and to make us think that we are unworthy. We must remember that we are here for a purpose, and we will complete that purpose, and as long as God is on our side- nothing will stop us! It’s time to realize that it is not only the things we do which we are accountable for, but also the things we do not do.
